Lenoir City Bettas
The Lenoir City Bettas are currently taking applications for our Head coaching position for the summer 2021 Season.
The Lenoir City Bettas are a swim team comprised of swimmers
aged 5-18 . We are based in Lenoir City, TN and are focused on fostering a fun environment
for our swimmers while teaching them importance of swimming within the realm of
friendly competition. The team competes within the Greater Knoxville Area
Interclub Swimming Association, our season runs from mid-May through early
Competitive swimming background, a minimum of 2 Years
coaching experience (assistant coaching is acceptable).
Understanding of how children learn, while having the ability to communicate clearly and directly. This individual must have the ability to interact effectively and efficiently with the other coaching staff, Parent Board and swim parents.
Lifeguarding, CPR, AED and First Aid certification a plus.
We are hoping for a Coach that loves swimming and can connect with young people while being fully invested in a team environment.
The Head Coach is a contract position and reports directly
to our Parent Board. The coach will be in charge of the entire coaching staff
and run practices (or ensure that all practices are covered). This will include
designing practices/workouts, being on deck when swimmers and parents arrive,
and assisting with set up and tear down, daily.
We’d ask that the Head Coach be active in meet line-up assignments to include events for individual swimmers, determining relay teams and completing meet entries, generally on a weekly basis. The head coach and coaching staff will provide corrective feedback to every swimmer during practices and meets, in order to enhance swimmer techniques.
Maintaining structure and discipline within a group setting, while encouraging and promoting participation in a positive manner would be our goal for the Bettas Head Coach. Presenting themselves in a professional, friendly, helpful, and diplomatic manner, while ensuring the safety of our swimmers always. Engaging parents and cultivating relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment would be must.
Some of our swimmers will need extra attention and revised practices would be necessary for those swimmers with special needs. We’d need a coach that was open and able to work with swimmers of ALL abilities.
From time to time, our team would love to have our Head
Coach on hand for fundraisers or extracurricular activities, we’d hope that
this individual would want to attend as well.
If this is you, please reach out to Mel Everett at email@example.com.
