Head Swim Coach (Salaried Position)
Position Overview
The Head Swim Coach will work with their Co-Head Coach to lead our summer swim team by creating a fun, structured, and encouraging experience for swimmers of all ages and abilities. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with kids, building team spirit, and helping young athletes enjoy the sport of swimming. This individual will foster a positive, disciplined, and growth-focused environment while mentoring swimmers and assistant coaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead age-appropriate, engaging swim practices
- Teach proper stroke technique while keeping practices fun and safe
- Create a positive team culture where swimmers feel supported and motivated
- Supervise, mentor, and collaborate with assistant coaches
- Communicate effectively with swimmers, families, and team leadership
- Model sportsmanship, kindness, and respect
- Attend practices, meets, and team events
Qualifications
Experience coaching or working with youth swimmers (prior swimming experience necessary)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to inspire athletes and build a positive team culture
- Ability to connect with children and keep them engaged
- Current certifications (or willingness to obtain): CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard, and required governing-body credentials
Compensation: Salaried position, commensurate with experience

2026 Cherokee Assistant Swim Team Coach
Job Title: Assistant Swim Team Coaches
Reports to: Head Swim Team Coach
Cherokee Country Club is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and energetic Assistant Swim Coaches to support our Swim Team program. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about swimming, enjoy working with youth athletes, and want to be part of a positive, team-focused environment.
Position Summary
Assistant Swim Coaches will work alongside the Head Coach to provide instruction, encouragement, and supervision for swimmers of various ages and skill levels. Coaches will help create a fun, safe, and competitive atmosphere that promotes skill development, sportsmanship, and team spirit.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and conducting swim practices.
- Provide stroke instruction and technique correction.
- Encourage teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Help supervise swimmers during practices and meets.
- Assist with swim meets, including timing, organizing heats, and athlete support.
- Ensure safety standards are always followed.
- Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and coaching staff.
Qualifications
- Competitive swim experience preferred.
- Previous coaching or teaching experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

2026 GREAN MEADOW SWIM TEAM
Green Meadow Swim Team (GMST) is looking for dedicated candidates for Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions in Alcoa, TN. Ideal applicants should have a passion for swimming and coaching, capable of instructing and motivating swimmers of all ages and skill levels. Key requirements include:
- Availability throughout the summer (Memorial Day to the end of July).
- Morning practices Monday to Friday, evening practices and meets throughout the summer.
- Willingness to work with children aged 4 and above at all skill levels.

UT RecSports Seeking Experienced Lifeguards

Qualifications:
•Current American Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR/AED/First Aid certification• Successfully complete the pre-employment skill evaluation• Contribute a minimum of 10 hrs/ week; additional special event hours required• Summer Lifeguards may work up to 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: Base pay - $9.75/ hour; Summer Pay - $10.75/ hour; Event Pay - $12.75/hour Annual raises provided base on performance and service
