Team Reps and Coaches,

There is a LOT of information in this email, so be sure that you read all the way to the end and download the attachments!

It is hard to believe that summer is over half way over. We saw a lot of celebrating last week via the Instagram/Twitter Challenge!  Congratulations to this week's winners, Lenoir City Bettas, Gulf Park Blue Sharks, and Benington-Farrington Cudas (our first double-winner). You will be receiving a sweet treat at practice this week!!

Thank you to all of the teams who are participating in the Instagram/Twitter Challenge. This week's theme is "Show Us Your Superheroes." We want to see our teams and swimmers decked out as their favorite Superheroes... or just show us Superheroes on your team! Remember to identify your team and to use #GKAISA.

As long as Health Department directives permit, we will hold a “Senior Splash” meet on Saturday, July 25 at Knoxville Racquet Club. At that time, we will honor our GKAISA Seniors and award the Tom Schumann and Bill Lauer Service Awards and the James Rich Courage Award.

Any swimmer who is age 18 or who has just completed high school will be eligible to compete – even if your team is not swimming this year. Participation in this meet will not affect a swimmer’s ability to obtain a waiver to swim next summer.

Information on the Senior Meet is attached. Please read this information carefully.

Information on the Tom Schumann and Bill Lauer Service Awards (along with the nomination forms) is attached. This year, we are asking each of your nominees to write a short essay (no more than 500 words) about what summer swim has meant to them and for them.

Information on the James Rich Courage in the Face of Adversity Award is also attached. Please note that this is open to ANY swimmer in the 15-18 age group.

Also, please send the names of your seniors, along with a short bio and a photo to Sherren Chadwell at robsherren@hotmail.com. We are posting these on the website as we receive them. The bios will also appear in the heat sheet for the Senior Meet.

If you have not already done so, please send copies of your team's COVID releases to Angelia Nystrom at 613 Scotswood Circle, Knoxville 37919. You can also scan and email them. COVID Releases MUST be received PRIOR to submitting your entries for Senior Meet.

Coaches should have submitted their training certifications to Breckenridge Morgan by now. Please check your email to be sure that all of your coaches have submitted all five (5) forms to Breckenridge. We must have those on file for your coaches to be admitted to the Senior Meet; however, we are asking that teams limit the number of coaches at Senior Meet to one per team in order to keep our numbers low.

Also, please send your Insurance Declaration forms to Breckenridge. If your insurance is not set to renew until July, please send him an email to let him know.

Please contact Breckenridge Morgan immediately if you have questions or changes to your t-shirt orders. He can be reached at  Breckenridge.Morgan@mac.com

Thank you for all that you are doing for your teams and your swimmers. While it is not the summer that we envisioned, it is shaping up to be a fantastic one nonetheless. That is a testament to all of the work that all of you are doing.

Happy Swimming!

Angelia Nystrom

GKAISA President
